This class is for those who are either thinking of getting into spraying or need improving their current spraying knowledge. Students will learn what’s important to know before purchasing spraying equipment and the information every sprayer has to know to master a perfect “off the gun” finish. Turbines and compressed air are the two main air sources, but there are several spray guns to consider. Selecting materials for spraying is also important to the choice of equipment and has a direct effect on the quality of the final finish. Gun parts, fluid needles, fluid nozzles and air caps have a direct relationship to the desired results. Temperature and humidity greatly affects how well coatings will spray and cure, so a variety of coatings will be discussed. Students will learn how to manipulate these coatings with the proper solvents for different spraying conditions. Gun maintenance will also be covered in detail. By the end of the day, participants will be much more confident how to choose and use spraying equipment.
