Building a chair is one of the most rewarding projects anyone can take on, but where in the world would you start on a project with so many challenges? Jeff, author of Chairmaking & Design, and the creator of some 40 different chair designs, will guide students through the building of this very comfortable and versatile chair which was recently featured on the cover of Popular Woodworking magazine. In this class students will learn straightforward methods for dealing with: angled joinery, cutting, smoothing, and dealing with joinery on curves and for dealing with the critical issues of chair comfort and structure. The skills learned in this class can then be applied to countless design variations, opening up an entire world of chairmaking opportunities.
